CTR stands for click through rate. It is the number of clicks received per number of impressions. It represents how many people clicked on the ad for you after seeing it.
CTR = (Clicks/Impressions)*100
Why is CTR important?
It is one of the most important metrics used in digital marketing. It shows how many users are interested in your product/service after seeing your ad and wanted to know more about the same.
It is an important measure for a company's data to do further research for a future product or a future campaign. It depicts that our ads are appealing to the customers. But there is a deeper benefit for the advertiser from google. The Google Ads algorithm rewards higher quality ads with higher positions and lower costs per click. Why? Because Google doesn’t make money if no one clicks on its ads, so it gives preference to the ads most likely to succeed.
How to improve CTR?
- Use the right keywords
- Target specific audience
- Use negative keywords
- Use dynamic keyword insertion, but don’t overuse it
