A Canadian business website often has to serve two languages, follow privacy law and be usable by everyone. ByteArray Technology Solutions builds websites for Canadian companies from Greater Noida West, India, and plans for these needs at the start, when they cost least to include.
English and French
In Quebec, businesses that offer goods or services to the public are expected to provide commercial information in French, and recent changes to the Charter of the French Language, often called Bill 96, tightened this. Even outside Quebec, a federal contractor or a firm with national reach may want both languages. We build the site so each language has its own web addresses, page titles and menu, and so a visitor can switch at any point without landing on the home page.
French text is written or reviewed by a native speaker. A machine translated page reads awkwardly to Quebec customers and can damage trust faster than having no French page at all.
Privacy and accessibility
Federal privacy law is PIPEDA, and Quebec's Law 25 adds stricter requirements on consent, privacy officers and notices. Organisations in Ontario may fall under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, which expects websites to meet WCAG 2.0 AA at least. We build consent tools, privacy page placement and accessible components to the requirements your adviser provides, and we build to WCAG 2.1 AA wherever possible.
Business types
We build sites for technology companies in Toronto and Waterloo, real estate firms in Vancouver and Calgary, and online retailers that ship across provinces. Stores can include Canadian dollars, GST, HST and PST rules, and local payment options such as Interac.
Schedule and cost
A ten page English site takes about four to six weeks after design approval, and a bilingual site takes longer because both languages must be reviewed. The proposal states a fixed price in Canadian dollars on request. See the website development page.
